The Kilbeggan Distillery would like to welcome the entire Midlands to a great family day out. To mark its one millionth visitor Kilbeggan Distillery is hosting a day of entertainment and fun on the distillery grounds from noon until 6pm on Saturday September 10.

Lockes Distillery in Kilbeggan is expecting to welcome its one millionth visitor within the next two weeks, and to mark this will host an open day next Saturday September 10, from noon to 6pm.

A large group of international tour operators and buyers visited Kilbeggan Distillery and Old Locke’s Distillery Museum on a familiarisation trip to the Midlands. The group are in Ireland to attend Meitheal 2011, the annual travel trade workshop organised by Fáilte Ireland, in conjunction with Tourism Ireland. Meitheal is one of the largest tourism trade workshops and the most important event of the Irish tourism calendar.

A cask of Irish whiskey will travel by canal to Dublin this weekend for the first time in over half a century - but it will need the help of Ned the horse to make it!

Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey was crowned Worldwide Whiskey of the Year when it collected the prestigious Brown Forman Trophy at the 2009 International Wine and Spirit Competition Awards banquet in London.
